From time to time, instead of my usual email with one big idea you can read in 3 minutes or less, I share with you the best of what I’m reading, watching, and exploring. Enjoy!

Books

On Our Best Behavior: The Seven Deadly Sins and the Price Women Pay to be Good by Elise Loehnen. A spectacular book by one of my favorite podcast hosts. From the official description: “A groundbreaking exploration of the ancient rules women unwittingly follow in order to be considered ‘good,’ revealing how the Seven Deadly Sins still control and distort their lives and illuminating a path toward a more balanced, spiritually complete way to live.”

Films

Broker (Hulu | Amazon Prime) A heartwarming South Korean film about the family we choose and the family we leave behind. Brilliant screenplay and acting.

Shows

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5. (Amazon Prime) I loved the final season of this comedy series as much as the first. Mrs. Maisel, played to perfection by Rachel Brosnahan, is a stay-at-home mom in the 1950s who discovers a talent for making people laugh—and begins to perform in the underbelly of Manhattan comedy clubs. The writing is exceptional, and the cinematography is stunning.

Ted Lasso Season 3. (Apple TV+) This show hasn’t skipped a beat. I look forward to every episode, and each one feels like a warm hug. Here’s the basic premise: “An American football coach is hired to manage a British soccer team; what he lacks in knowledge, he makes up for in optimism, determination, and biscuits.”

A trick for iPhone users

Your iPhone has an amazing camera—much better than the one that comes with your Mac. There’s a feature I love called continuity camera that allows you to easily use your iPhone’s camera as your webcam. All you need is this camera mount to place your phone on your laptop. I use this setup for everything from Zoom calls to virtual keynotes—and the video quality is stunning.

Pants I wear almost every day

lululemon Men’s ABC pants. I remember walking into a lululemon store about five years ago. I tried on a pair of ABC pants for the first time, and it was like the clouds parted and the angels began to sing. How can something that looks THIS good be THIS comfortable?, I thought to myself. Since then, I’ve worn a pair of ABC pants almost every day. (For a fun fact, look up what ABC means).
