The Ascent of Humanity by Charles Eisenstein. This book made me think, reflect, and see the world differently—what more could you ask for from a nonfiction book? Eisenstein explores how separation—from nature, each other, and even ourselves—has led modern civilization off track and what we might do about it. Yes, the book could have used better editing—it’s too long and repetitive—but it’s still the most-highlighted book for me in recent memory. Bonus: If you don’t mind reading online, the author offers the book for free on his website.

Blink Twice (2024). [Amazon Prime | Apple TV+] Zoe Kravitz hits the ground running with her first stint as director, delivering a thriller that’s as stylish as it is disturbing. The twists are so wild, they’ll have you blinking twice.

Bad Monkey. [Apple TV+] Vince Vaughn shines in this hilariously absurd crime comedy that’s surprisingly better than I expected. It’s the perfect antidote to a long day—just pure, unfiltered fun.
