I was in Houston this week to give a keynote—alongside the incomparable Brené Brown.

(So, yeah, no pressure—just trying not to sweat through my blazer while following the queen of vulnerability on stage.)

Here’s a great LinkedIn post that captured both of us in action:

Brené Brown at ACHECongress

If you’re new here after the event—welcome! It was a pleasure having you in the audience (and signing so many books—thank you!).

Now, onto our regularly scheduled programming: Once a month, I share the best of what I’ve been reading, watching, and exploring. Enjoy!

Shows

White Lotus Season 3. (HBO Max) This is easily one of the best shows I’ve ever watched—I look forward to every episode. The new season is set in Thailand and has everything you want in a great watch: gorgeous scenery, sharp social satire, and characters that are somehow both absurd and completely believable. Parker Posey steals every scene she’s in—possibly one of the funniest people alive.

Schitt’s Creek. (Hulu | Amazon Prime) I’m rewatching this from the beginning, and it feels like catching up with an old friend who still cracks you up with all the same jokes.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive Season 7. (Netflix) I don’t watch Formula 1. But I do watch this show, religiously. It’s a masterclass in behind-the-scenes storytelling. What drives the sport isn’t just speed—it’s ego, pressure, politics, and the occasional spectacular meltdown. Come for the drama, stay for the cinematic slow-mo shots of pit crews and rivalries.

Films

Ghost (1990). (Paramount+ | Amazon Prime) Yes, that pottery scene. And yes, it still holds up. One of the best rom-coms ever made, blending romance, mystery, and just enough supernatural weirdness to keep things interesting. Bonus trivia: The iconic pottery moment wasn’t even in the original script.

Inside Out 2 (2024). (Amazon Prime | Apple TV+) While it doesn’t quite reach the brilliance of the original, this sequel still delivers. Think Pixar meets a therapy session you didn’t know you needed. It might be the best depiction of Internal Family Systems ever brought to life.

Closer (2004). (Netflix | Amazon Prime) A deliciously uncomfortable rollercoaster of love, lies, and laser-sharp dialogue. Imagine four beautiful, emotionally chaotic humans (Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Julia Roberts, Clive Owen) taking turns seducing, deceiving, and emotionally body-slamming each other across London. Come for the drama, stay for the emotional whiplash.

Music

Looped” by Kiasmos. This track feels like stepping into a dream you don’t want to wake up from. Minimalist electronic music at its best—ideal for daydreaming.

My favorite wine-saving gadget

Vacu Vin Wine Saver Pump. After experimenting with what felt like a dozen ways to keep an open bottle of wine from turning into vinegar’s sad cousin, this little wonder came out on top. It’s a simple pump that pulls the air out of the bottle and slows down oxidation. I pop the bottle in the fridge afterward (another anti-oxidation trick), then pull it out an hour before drinking to let it warm up. Bonus points for feeling like a sommelier-scientist hybrid every time I use it.
